Deep in the heart of South Louisiana, where cypress knees rise from dark waters and the air hangs heavy with the scent of moss and magnolia, Rougarou River Rentals was born from a love of bayou life—and a little local legend.
We’re not just a kayak rental company. We’re storytellers, explorers, and proud Louisiana natives with a wild side. Our name comes from the infamous Rougarou, the shapeshifting creature of Cajun folklore said to roam the swamps and shadows. While you won’t find him on any map, you might just feel his presence as you paddle down False River at dusk or drift quietly beneath the ancient trees.
